Well like Brigadoon Master Krakken has faded into the mists of the internet again. So here is the situation. It looks like I need a new artist. I am going to start the search again but right now I don't have the cash to higher one. I have two other comics starting up this month and they are soaking up all the petty cash.

So if Master Krakken comes back the comic will start as soon as posible.

Otherwise the comic will start up again in January when I will have a little more spending money and hopefully a new artist.

Thanks to all of you for hanging in there and if anyone knows an artist who would like to work on this project send them my way.

I don't know if anyone is still visiting this site. But I got some exciting news. Master Krakken has returned from his hiatus and is ready to start drawing again. Uesutan will live!

So here you have the last page I received from Master Krakken. Does my posting it mean we are going to restart. That I don't know. Master Krakken is with out a doubt one of the best artist out there. However he has been plagued with technical problems. This project has a lot more in it from the script side but with out an artist this project will have to wait. I am not pulling the plug just yet. But it might be another month or two before any new pages appear.

Master Krakken is having some major issues this month so while he pulls things together we are going to have a few fillers. Instead of putting up some of my crudely drawn artwork I thought I would put up some of Master Krakkens Sketches along with some of the thought process that goes into the comic. I will let you guys know when new content will appear.

So I tell you that we are going to update and then a disaster happens to prevent that update. I tell you that we are not going to update because Master Krakken is sick and he manages to crank out an updated from his death bed. I can’t win.

Well I am going to stop making predictions. Will there be an update next Wednesday? You will just have to stop by and see because I clearly don’t have the slightest insight on this issue.

Well Master Krakken has taken seriously ill. Rather than kill himself producing the next comic I have told him to take a few days off. We probably will not have an update this week. A missed update is better than a dead artist. Historical the dead produce very poor artwork.

No I’m not bigoted against the dead. I’m just saying that if you look at the great art works of the modern era the people who produced them were alive at the time.

No this is not about the living keeping the dead down…

…You know what it is about keeping the dead down. If you’re dead you are supposed to stay down. That is the whole point of being dead. In fact staying down is one of the defining characteristic of being dead.

Shesh. Some corpses are so touchy.

There will be a short delay in this weeks comic. Master Krakken is having some problems with the page. Hopefuly we will have these kinks worked out soon.

Well from the tag board and from comments I have gotten in private everyone loves Master Krakken’s artwork. And rightly so I must say. With every picture I get from him I am amazed with the quality he delivers. His art alone has gained this little comic a lot of reader. Now it is just up to me to blow it with my lousy story.

By the way, if you click on Master Krakkens name on the page above you will go to his personal website and see some of the other cool things he has done.

Some of you have mentioned that you would like to support the comic but sadly lack the money to do so. Do not despair there are more way to support this comic than giving money. Although money is good, I hear this money thing can be exchanged for goods and services. We here at Uesutan like good and services and wish we had more of them.

So how can support Uesutan?

This comic is just starting out letting people know about us is a tremendous aid. And worth a fair amount of as well. Each 1000 visitor we get in a month is worth about $0.50 as far as ad revenue is concerned. If you post links to this comic it is the same as donating money. You are just donating other people money.

VOTE

Again voting is the same as donating money. The more votes we get the more readers come to the site and as you learned in the link section more readers mean more ad money. Each time you click on a voting button you are donating about 3 cents to the comic. If you vote every day for a month you have donated a dollar without spending a dime (or a dollar).

We like to hear what you think. Feedback is sadly not worth money but it helps us improve the comic and get to know you. That is worth something in it’s own right.

Lack of Update, Update.

This has not been a good week to launch a comic. Most of you are here because the of the advertising I purchase in various places on the internet. “Hey all you Post Nukers and Red Stringites.” And what do you see when you get here. This little comic coughing a wheezing like it got some virulent version of the black plague.

Monday the site crashed for half a day. And then for the next two days the server refused to update the comic. As of right now the next page is done but stranded in a digital netherworld waiting for repairs to be made on the update system. I don’t know when thing will kick back in but once it does we are read to go full stream ahead.

Ok, we dropped the ball here. We are still trying to work out the scheduling and work flow process and there were a few glitches. The next page should be up very soon. From now on the plan is to have a new page every Wednesday.

What’s All This Then?

Well it has gotten to the point where I should talk about what’ going on here. First of all I would like to welcome you all to this new comic. Thanks for dropping by and I hope you find something you like.

So what is this? You are looking at a joint project between myself (Drowemos) as author and Master Krakken as artist. Yes I know I know there have only been three words in the comic so far. So what have I been doing? Well mostly paying for stuff. You see an artist of MK caliber don’t produce such an amazing product for free. I have to pay him. Honestly he deserves a lot more than what I give him but don’t tell him that.

Now this can’t last forever. I need to eat and pay rent and such. So I am hopping that once you, the reader, get involved in the story you will find the generosity in your heart to donate a small amount each month to keep things going. And if we can break the $500 mark we Master Krakken and promised to double his pace of production.

So what is the story? Well it can be described as a fantasy western. It is a world with swordsman and demons. In this world certain people have magical powers, powers giving them dominion over the dark forces. The story is set on the edge of the civilized word. Here survival trumps society and the line between good and evil gets razor thing. So is that vague enough for you? More will be revealed in time.

The comic will update once a week each Sunday-Mondayish. I hope to see you around here again.
